The goal of the game is to be the first partnerships to reach 100 points. Teams do this by individual players compiling their scores for declared combinations, cards won in tricks, and other miscellaneous point values gathered during rounds of play.  SETUP To set up a 52-card deck will need to be modified to be a 32-card deck. This is done by removing all cards 6 and lower. This leaves Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, 10s, 9s, 8s, and 7s.  For the first deal, a random player is made dealer, this passes to the left each round after. NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  4 Players MATERIALS:  A 52-card deck, a way to keep score, and a flat surface. TYPE OF GAME:  Trick-Taking Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF NINE CARD DON Nine Card Don is a game played by 4 players in 2 fixed partnerships. Partners will sit across from each other. The goal of the game is to reach an agreed-upon score total of either 91 or 121 points. It is similar to another game called  Big Three . To score points players will try to win certain cards which will be scored at the end of the round.  SETUP A couple of things will need to be determined before the first deal can begin. One player from each team should draw a card off the top of the shuffled deck. The player with the higher card will be the pitch player. NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  3 – 8 Players MATERIALS:  Two 52-card decks, chips or other betting tokens, and a flat surface. TYPE OF GAME:  Stops Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF MICHIGAN Michigan is a game for 3 to 8 players. These players will make bids and try to empty their hands as quickly as possible. Players will win bids by playing certain cards during the game, and by being the first to have no cards in hand. This is a bidding game where players can play for stakes or just use chips to show the value of points.  SETUP To set up a dealer should be selected randomly. The dealer will pass to the left after each deal.  The first dealer will set out the layout. This includes the Ace of hearts, King of clubs, Queen of diamonds, and Jack of spades from one of the decks. These cards are often called pay cards. The remaining cards of this deck will not be used and can be placed away from the game.  T

TYPE OF GAME:  Trick-Taking Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF MPOURLOTO Mpourloto is a 4-player trick-taking game where players will be in two fixed partnerships of 2. Partners will sit across from each other during the game and their goal together is to reach 1000 points before the other team can. This is achieved by winning tricks with certain cards in them as well as playing certain melds of cards together.  SETUP To setup Mpourloto you will need to modify a 52-card deck to a 32-card deck. You can do this by removing all 7s and below leaving a deck of Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, 10s, 9s, 8s, and 7s.  A dealer should be chosen at random and then the dealer will pass to the left each round. NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  3 to 5 Players MATERIALS:  A standard deck of 52-cards, and a flat surface. TYPE OF GAME:  Trick-taking Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF CANGKUL Cangkul is a 3 to 5 player trick-taking card game. It is similar to a game called  Burro . In this game, players will compete to be the first player to play out their last card and empty their hand. They can do this by playing to and winning tricks.  SETUP A dealer is chosen randomly and can be passed around clockwise in the case of additional games. The dealer will shuffle the deck and deal each player a 7-card hand, one card at a time, clockwise around the table. The remaining cards are left facedown in the center of the table for a draw deck.  Card Rankings  The ranking in Cangkul is traditional with Ace being high followed by King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 being the lowest. TYPE OF GAME :  Adding Card Game AUDIENCE:  Kids OVERVIEW OF CAMICIA Camicia is a  War  or  Beggar My Neighbor  style kids game for two players. Players will each have the same number of cards and through luck, one will run the other player’s cards out. This player will lose the game. The goal is, through playing random cards, to win their cards through attacks.  SETUP A dealer is chosen randomly and then will trade for each new game. The dealer shuffles the 40-card Italian deck and deals themselves and the other player 20 cards, or half the deck. The players will then take their hands and keep them facedown without looking at their cards. TYPE OF GAME :  Trick-Taking Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF CALL BRIDGE Call Bridge is a trick-taking card game for 4 players. There are no partnerships in this game and all players will bid, play, and win tricks separately. Scores are also kept separately. The goal of the game is to reach a predetermined number of points to win. Players can do this by making bids and completing them to score points over several rounds of play. The first person to reach the needed score wins.  SETUP A dealer is chosen randomly and then each round after will pass to the right. The dealer shuffles the 52-card deals each player 13 cards, one card at a time, counterclockwise. Players may then pick up and view their hands. The bidding round may then begin. TYPE OF GAME :  Trick-Taking Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF GONG ZHU Gong Zhu is a very similar card game to  Hearts . It is a trick-taking card game for 4 to 5 players. If playing with 4 players it is possible to play with partners, with teams sitting opposite of each other.  The goal of the game is to not reach a score of negative 1000. If you do you have lost and become the “pig”. The pig is usually made to do something or wear something embarrassing to signify they have lost the game.  SETUP To set up for a 5-player game, the 2 of clubs and diamonds will need to be removed. For a 4-player game, all cards are kept. The dealer is chosen randomly and passes after each hand to the left. The dealer will shuffle, then deal all cards out to the players one at a time in clockwise order. O

TYPE OF GAME :  Shedding Card Game AUDIENCE:  Adult OVERVIEW OF CALIFORNIA SPEED California Speed is a Shedding card game for two people. Similar in some ways to war, players will each have a pile of cards that they will play from without viewing cards prior. These cards will then be matched and covered. The player to empty their hand first wins. SETUP A 52-card deck is shuffled, and each player will receive half the deck, or 26 cards exactly. Players will receive their cards facedown and will take them into their hands as a pile and keep them facedown. This prevents their opponent and themselves from viewing any of the cards.  Card Rankings and Values In California Speed, ranking and suits do not matter.
